Award for Outstanding Young Professional
Below is the online nomination process for the Award for Outstanding Young Professional.
Every year, AFP highlights the work of up to five young professionals under the age of 31 who have already been successful in demonstrating exemplary, creative and innovative work in their careers, as well as a strong commitment to the profession, including engagement with AFP and community and volunteer work.
Please Note: The Award for Outstanding Young Professional has a new nomination process and nomination deadline that is different than other awards. In summary, the process is two-fold:
Nominees will be considered for the award based on the responses to the criteria below.
Part 1: Recommendation
Any member or chapter can recommend a young member of AFP for the Outstanding Young Professional Award (and members are free to self-nominate) by sending an email to awards@afpglobal.org. This email must contain:
- The young professional’s name, organization and contact information.
- A 200-word blurb on the young professional’s accomplishments to date and why they should be nominated for the award.
The young professional must meet the following criteria to be considered for the award:
This email recommendations must be received by September 30, 2021. Assuming the above two criteria are met, AFP will send the young professional nominee a message saying that they have been recommended as a nominee for this award and encouraging them to complete the Outstanding Young Professional nomination form (a link to this online form will be provided at that time).
Part 2: Nomination Form
Nominees who have been recommended by September 30, 2021, will be responsible for ensuring their nominations are submitted by the deadline date: October 31, 2021. The nominee or someone on their behalf, including a chapter, must submit the nomination form online through the AFP award portal (a link to this online form will be provided at that time).
