This award honors an outstanding individual fundraising professional who works directly for a nonprofit, charitable organization.

Every year, AFP highlights the work of up to five young professionals under the age of 31 who have already been successful in demonstrating exemplary, creative and innovative work in their careers, as well as a strong commitment to the profession, including engagement with AFP and community and volunteer work.

William R. Simms Awards for Outstanding Youth in Philanthropy, sponsored by CARTER honors young people with a proven record of exceptional generosity who demonstrate outstanding civic and charitable responsibility and whose philanthropy encourages others to engage on a community, national and/or international level.

This award honors a corporation or its corporate foundation that demonstrates outstanding commitment through financial support and through encouragement and motivation of others to take leadership roles toward philanthropy and community involvement.
